I need to talk about a time when I went to a crowded place which was during the Lunar New Year holiday at Fodiborgurg, the pedestrian street around Hwanggim-lik in Hanoi. It’s a popular sport where a lot of people gather during the holiday to celebrate and watch the fireworks. I went there with my family a couple of years ago right on New Year’s Eve. We thought it would be nice to go to the lake to enjoy the festive atmosphere and to see the fireworks show at midnight. The streets were packed with people, locals and tourists alike who had come to enjoy the celebration. There were also street performer, food stalls and decorations which made the place feel very lively. We went there mainly because it’s one of the best places in the city to experience the excitement of the new year. Everyone was in the festive mood and we wanted to be part of that. Also, the fireworks display over the lake is famous so we thought it would be a memorable way to start the new year. To be honest, I have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, it was great to be part of such a big celebration surrounded by happy people and beautiful decorations. The fireworks were spectacular and it was definitely an unforgettable experience. On the other hand, the crowd was overwhelming at times. It was hard to move around and we had to wait a long time for the fireworks to start. Still overall, I’m glad we went because it was a special moment to share with my family.
