These days, in the period of liberty rights, a bunch of charters are being issued to more generations, especially children. Millions argue that a child needs to be free in the family, it means they should not obey the conventions and follow their parent’s advice while others think they should. From my standpoint, I agree with this statement to some extent.
On the one hand, parental advice could be advantageous for their offspring in facing life problems. Obviously, most parents meticulously observe their children from infancy, therefore they can clearly comprehend what is suitable for their child. As a result, they are able to provide the most suitable advice for their child. In addition, the elderly in families, particularly fathers and mothers, have accumulated a wealth of experience throughout their lifetimes, which becomes practical wisdom for the next generation. This will also have a positive impact on the decision-making process and be helpful in many crucial future decisions. For example, it is common to see that children who follow their parents’ advice often experience fewer problems such as bullying, truancy, and delinquency.
On the other hand, some fathers and mothers may struggle to keep up with the current era of development and technology. As a result, they may sometimes lag behind in their thinking process and inadvertently give unsuitable advice to their youngsters. There is a phenomenon where parents with a limited understanding of media information struggle to provide advice and guidance regarding their children’s behavior on social media platforms like Facebook or Instagram. Consequently, their sons and daughters may become victims of cyber violence, such as abduction, or fall prey to negative peer pressure. Likewise, for problems like these, we need relevant field related peoples’ advice ,not parents’ advice.
In conclusion, while parental advice is valuable, seeking guidance from experts may be necessary for addressing modern challenges like technology and media. A balanced approach combining parental wisdom and external expertise is essential for children’s well-being in today’s world.
