Nowadays, with the increase in population, many people found curious about the history of their families. The increasing in finding out someone’s history has two main reasons that are to find the historical origin and medical problems. However, I believe it is a negative trend for some reasons and I will discuss them in this essay.

With the development of technology, people nowadays have the opportunities to find out the historical origin of their families. By biological technology, many scientists analyse through DNA to find the generation of a family. As a result, people can find their missing relatives and know where their characteristics come from. For example, in Vietnam, a famous director, Nguyen Quang Dung inherited the artistic ideas from his father, Nguyen Quang Sang, a popular writer of Vietnam’s literature. In addition, it helps people know about genetic diseases such as diabetes, color blindness, etc.

However, this trend can bring negative efficiency. It is a waste of time and money if people spend too much in researching their historical origins. The cost in testing is expensive because it related to medical aspects or if they have money, it will take a long time to find the answers. Another reason is that it can cause mental health problems. In the case that the results were not unexpected, people can easily feel disappointed. For instance, researching found a person in one family was not their biological child of that family can cause disappointed for both sides and then form mental health.

In conclusion, while researching a person’s family history brings both negative and positive, I think the negative outweighs the positive because it wastes time and money. Furthermore, it also causes mental health problems.
