The pie charts show the principal ways of finding out the news in two different countries, Germany and Nigeria. The two nations show broadly similar patterns, though there are some differences, both significant and minor.
Overall, television remains the primary source of news for most people. The second is traditional media such as newspapers and radio, which continue to be important channels of information transmission.
One of the most prominent features of this data is that while in Nigeria, near three-quarters of people access the news through television, in Germany, this figure is just under a half. Also, TV replaced newspapers as the second place in Germany because newspapers are the most popular.
It was different for the other three categories, such as radio and the Internet. One major difference between the Nigerian and German people is that over twice as many listened to the radio in print in the former compared with the latter. The figures are 22% and 10%, respectively.
