In order to get teenagers used to living independently, many suggest that they should acquire practical skills like making food, money and home management. While others think that they should only concentrate on their studies instead. I partially disagree with the opinion above.
On the one hand, academic education is extremely crucial for teenagers as it would increase their chances to pursue successful career and have a better future. While teenagers can always learn practical skills at any time given with the help of not only parents but also the Internet. There are many guides on how to make a male, manage your house on social medias such as Youtube, Tiktok.
On the other hand, possessing practical skills early not only brings a lot of advantages later on but also benefits teenagers’ progression at school. Cooking can help build teenagers patience, make them more careful and more responsible. When preparing a dish, teens have to choose fresh ingredients and wait patiently for their food to be cooked or marinated correctly.
Furthermore, budgeting help teens be more conscious of their spending, enable them to plan ahead and make arrangements for the future. As for household management, teenagers will be able to sort out things more efficiently.
In conclusion, while academic education is vital to teenagers, being able to obtain practical skills at an early age will have many positive impacts on both studying and living alone. Therefore, school should not solely focus on academic education and ensure students can live on their own.
