Band 4+: Some people believe that universities should only accept students with high marks. Others think that students of all ages and abilities levels should be able to attend universities. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Some people argue that only the students with higher marks should be allowed to enroll in universities whereas Others think that an educational institution should not be biased for age group and the lower marks. In my opinion, I partially agree with both of the views.

Some individuals expect the collage to run in a merit basis focusing on younger pupils having higher marks in their school. This policy not only enhance education system, but also create a healthy competition among students to pursue their higher to studies. For example, professions like doctor and engineer requires best candidates as they are the pillars of the nation. It creates specialization in both sector leading within to sustainable development with in a country. Furthermore, every individuals would be encouraged to achieve higher marks which create a healthy competition among them and consequently promote better education system.

In contrast, other peoples think that it could be a restriction for older age groups and those who have scored lower marks in their school. These policies could have detrimental effect on the mental health of students. For instance, restricting low achievers to follow their subject of interest could leads them to depression, anxiety and other various psychological disorder. Additionally, there is always a room for improvement as low achievers can also make a significant progress when they realize the importance of education.. Innovations and development are possible with extraordinary ideas not by the high score in schools.

In a conclusion, I firmly believe the merit basis of educational institution creates competitiveness among students to produce expert professionals in various fields improving educational system. But innovations and positive development can also be generated by low achievers if appropriate opportunities are given to them. So every university can play a vital role to balance this issue by giving opportunity to both high and low scorers.
