Overall, there was a proliferation in the total number of people visiting those countries throughout 15 years. In addition, Europe always had the highest figures for arrivals for tourism while the Middle East saw the lowest.
In 1990, an amount of 280.2 million travelers came to Europe, after which it witnessed a significant rise to 390.3 million in 1995, then slightly accumulated before ending the period at 400.2 million. Similar changes in figures can be seen for America and Asia and the Pacific territories, whose figures began at 80.5 and 60.2 million respectively. However, in 2005, Asia and the Pacific regions outcompeted the US when 135.8 million individuals reached them while that for the latter was 113.2 million.
Next in line is Africa with the starting point of 18.2 million visitors in 1990, when it gradually accelerated to 28.7 million at the end of the period. Finally, the Middle East seemed to be the least favorite since it only attracted 9.8 million travelers at first and merely rose up to 15.8 million in 2005.
