Many people dispute that country should invest a huge budget in skills or vocational training for practical work due to changes in the labor market. This essay contends that while practical skills hold greater value, the merits of university education cannot be undermined.
On the one hand, vocational education is primarily beneficial. A notable benefit is that vocational training focus on teaching practical skills and professional knowledge, bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. Vocational education always try to update the closest to the business’s needs for recruiting and using employees which focus on practical practice time to meet the demand for highly technical human resources of the labor market. Currently, certain industries facing challenges of finding qualified individual that employers value skills and ability to do the job more than qualifications such as construction, maintenance, services,. Moreover, vocational training also has a short training period, low costs, and job opportunities after graduation are also quite high.
On the other hand, numerous compelling reasons support my conviction that high school graduates should choose to pursue higher education. Firstly, the university environment helps to discover the abilities in an area of expertise which could be not discover before. That will make an important contribution to orienting the future work. Lacking a university degree limits one’s options , a university degree serves as evidence to ensure that you have the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitudes to meet job requirements. For example, to become an engineer, you need to study an engineering-related major. Last but not least, studying at university not only helps with your job search but also helps with your personal development in different fields, from arts to society, from science to humanities.
In conclusion, government should balance allocation of funds towards both vocational training and university education is imperative
