The bar graph illustrates data about the average Saturday sales of two bakeries, namely Lovely Loaves and Bernie’s Buns, in London in the year 2010. Generally, while the toasted sandwich sales of the two stores were similar, significant sales differences in cake purchase rates could be seen for the remaining product types. In addition, salads were the dish with the most considerable disparity in sales volume.
In detail, doughnuts were the best-selling products at the two bakeries, with around 135 sold in Bernie’s Buns and 120 sold in Lovely Loaves, amounting to 255 cakes in total. Rolls showed the second largest number sold in Bernie’s Buns, approximately 80, slightly higher than the number of rolls at Lovely Loaves, 50. Similarly, Bernie’s Buns also outsold Lovely Loaves in crisps, with around 80 compared to under 40 items.
Conversely, the remaining products showed that the sales volume of both bakeries was similar. In particular, toasted sandwiches, with 25 sold by Bernie’s Buns and 22 sold by Lovely Loaves, were the least popular dish among the six surveyed.
