The bar chart illustrates the average quantities of various products sold on Saturdays by two London bakeries, Bernie’s Buns and Lovely Loaves, in 2010. Overall, Bernie’s Buns recorded higher sales in most product categories, with the exceptions of French loaves and salads. Another striking feature is that doughnuts were the best-selling item in both bakeries, while salads and rolls registered the lowest figures at Lovely Loaves and Bernie’s Buns respectively.
Regarding Bernie’s Buns, doughnuts had the highest sales at approximately 140 items, followed by cookies and cakes at around 120 and 100 in turn. Toasted sandwiches ranked fourth, standing at nearly 80 units, just ahead of crisps with about 75. In contrast, French loaves, rolls, and salads were the least popular products, with roughly 40, 30, and 15 items sold
Similarly, doughnuts came top of the list at Lovely Loaves, with slightly more than 120 items sold. Cakes and cookies followed, at approximately 75 and 70 in order. Toasted sandwiches, French loaves, and crisps showed similar levels of sales, each accounting for around 45. Finally, salads recorded the lowest figure, at just over 20 units
