The maps depict how Castellon in Spain developed over several decades. The urban environment experienced a significant shift, marked by the appearance of some new locations and reorganisation of the transport system.
In the past a highway crossed Castellon. There was an old market near the city centre. The train station was located between the market and unversity. Incidentally, there was no buildings at the harbor.
Nowadays, the old market was moved to another location and reconstructed. It is now covered. A shop was built in its former location. Furthermore, the train station was reorganised into police station. Near the university, on the left, was erected a hall of residence, and to the right of the university there was raised a new shopping center.
Moreover, bike rental scheme was established in the city centre. In addition, a tram appeared in Castellon. There is a new tram station near the city centre and a tramline leads to the university. The tram was not the only one new type of public transport in Castellon. An airport was appeared in the city. However, the airport is being renovated. One more novelty is that the highway was turned into pedestrian road. Finally, a movie theatre and bars with clubs were erected.
In summary, Castellon saw significant transformation since 2000, characterized by substantial infrastructure changes, the development of new commercial and recreational facilities.
