Band 7+: fossile fuels are the main resources in many countries, but in some countries the use of alternative sources of energy are encouraged. to what extend do you think it is positive or negative development

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Fossil fuel has become a primary energy source in the majority of countries worldwide. However, despite a high demand, in some countries, alternative energy supply usage has expanded. Although this development is considered unreliable by many people, I believe that the issue of environmental effects is a big concern and requires a deliberate approach to be tackled. Consequently, alternative sources of energy are an advancement and possibly the only solution to the problem.

Fossil fuel substitutes are relatively new to humanity. It makes alternative fuel implementation more difficult as people are used to crude utilization. Moreover, people use up fossil fuels on a daily basis, without even acknowledging the side effects that they bring. The most obvious examples are cars that run on petroleum and gasoline, coal which is used for electricity generation, and cooking appliances like stoves that use natural gas. On one hand, we can’t neglect all the benefits of fossil fuels. On the other hand, however, CO2 emitted from industrial processes can harm people’s lives, pollute the air, and contribute to climate change.

A significant body of research concludes that the only way to deal with fossil fuel’s harmful effects issue is to replace them with eco-friendly ones. The implementation of artificial energy sources has changed the energy landscape significantly. Solar panels are used to supply houses, wind electricity provides power to specific needs: streetlights or farms. Nuclear energy, meanwhile, is used for heating and other beneficial implementations. In addition to all the abovementioned benefits, the main advantage of artificial energy is its innocuousness to nature. Prevention of carbon emissions means health risks go down.

To sum up, alternative energy sources help people avoid various issues regarding the environment. They are highly effective and their usage is already widespread. As long as renewable energy is environment-friendly and poses no health risks, it is highly advantageous.
