It is thought that artists like musicians, painters, and poets should be supported by the government, while others have controversial ideas about it. I would support the latter idea if it was really useless, but in my opinion, artists are the main creators of world culture, and the government must provide them material support.
Firstfull, the myriad of people think that the funds must be used for the needs of citizens: hospitals, education, and others. It is more important to spend all the money of the country to improve the people’s life, instead of using it to help artists. For instance, there are two choices, the improvement of rural school’s condition or sponsorship of a musician which needs an advertisement, and both of them need the same amount of money, it’s obvious that the better choice is the former one.
On the other hand, the development of gifted artists will advertise the country. By supporting, for example, a wunderkind painter, who illustrates the beauties of the country, the government will attract the tourists to look at these on their own. Tourism is one of the best ways to make the finances better. So, the financial support of artists is not fully misuse of money.
In my own viewpoint, politics should use the funds by looking at the urgency of needs. It means that, if the new hospital construction is urgent, then it is better to use it for this one. But in other cases, the sponsorship of creative people it’s very important.
In summary, as I said before, helping artists is not useless, because they attract advantages from abroad to their country.
