The pie charts compare information about the proportion of five types of books, such as adult fiction, children’s fiction, biography, travel, and others, dealt by booksellers between 1972 and 2012. The different types of book proportions are depicted in percentile form.
Overall, it can be seen that there was a significant increase in the sales proportion of adult and children’s fiction books during 2012, while demand for books such as biography, travel, and others declined during the period.
In detail, in 1972, booksellers sold 20% of adult fiction books, while it would be tremendously increased by 25% and 45% between 1992 and 2012. Afterwards, in 1972 and 1992, demand for children’s fiction slightly increased by 2%. Whereas, it would substantially increase by 3% in 2012. Moreover, in 1972, books like biography had a high proportion of readers; most of the books were sold by the bookseller, with 20%. On the contrary, the least proportion of geography books sold by seller between 1992 and 2012 was 15% and 8%, respectively.
It is evident that during 1992, most of the reader of travel are largerin proportion, which sales travel books, with 18%. Whereas, we saw that sales would decline by 15% and 10% in 1972 and 2012. Eventually, the pie charts also depict the sales of other books. During 1972, sales were high, at 25%, but it is noticeable that they declined by 20% in 1992. Conversely, in 2012, sales drastically fell by 12%.
