These days, the amount of violence in media is growing. While some people say that media has a positive impact in the society, others feel that it has damaging effect on the society. In this essay, we will discuss on the pros and cons of television and computer games and conclude my opinion on the same.
Firstly, people generally get inspired from characters or motives that they watch in television regardless of what society thinks about them. In case of computer games, people play at home safely and not creating violence or harmful effect to the society. The intensity of violence among the society relies on their behavior not because of the media. If we have the understanding of what technology is and how much we must make use of it, then there will not be any hazardous effect on the society.
On the other hand, media has created significant impact among people in terms of time consumption and swallowing the concentration towards the work we are supposed to focus on. Sometimes, computer games makes people think that violence is a normal phenomenon and it occurs in day to day life. Speaking of television, society tend to copy celebrities or models and assume that it is correct to copy them. For example, if a person watches a movie where they break a TV or a glassware out of anger, there are probabilities that people think it is acceptable to do the same in real life.
Therefore, the media has both damaging and beneficial effect on the society. It depends on how we implement and the quantity in which we make use of them. In my opinion. if people have limited exposure on television and computer games, then there is no room to be spoiled or experiencing any harmful effect.
