The following line graph shows the generation of electricity (in terawatt hours) in France between 1980 and 2012.

Overall, the production of electricity by nuclear energy has significantly increased throughout the given period and has the maximum share for production. Whereas, the contribution of thermal and hydroelectric sources has remained stagnant. A slight rise was observed in the generation of electricity by renewable sources.

In 1980, nuclear sources were responsible for producing 60 tw-h of energy. A sharp and continuous rise was observed for 25 years and it was producing roughly 425 tw-h.
