The provision of medical services is an indispensable aspect of society and a fundamental human requirement. Therefore, some people go against the involvement of privately-owned companies. Personally, I firmly hold the view that the drawbacks pale in comparison with the benefits it provides.
To begin with, there are several drawbacks of private healthcare. One of the primary concerns is the potential inequality in the access to medical services. This can be explained by the fact that treatment costs in private healthcare systems are often higher than ones which are subsidized by the government. As a consequence, only affluent people can afford expensive bills, making a portion of the population unable to access essential medical services. Another issue is the challenge of controlling the treatment process in individual hospitals. In other words, authorities can not supervise these institutions due to their independence. As a result, some private clinics only prioritize profit over patient rights, leading to unnecessary treatments or increased medical fees.
From a different view, despite the aforementioned defects, I firmly believe that private healthcare is more advantageous. On top of that, it provides great benefits because of its financial resources. In private hospitals, shorter waiting times allow timely treatments, while in the public one, long waitlists is a popular issue, which can delay medical services and affect patient’s well-being. Moreover, there are a range of options of specialized treatments that patients can choose on their own and doctors can even based on their preferences and needs. This allows individualized treatment approaches and leads to better patient satisfaction. Last but not least, profit-making companies are able to get modern facilities, which are not available in state-owned hospitals to cure some of dangerous diseases such as cancer or stroke.
In conclusion, while individualized healthcare may have some drawbacks, I personally think that the advantages are far more significant.
