The use of modern technology has become a controversial topic for debate. Although some people claim that modern technology worsen the relationship, others also believe that it brings people closer. In this essay, I will discuss both views and give my opinion at the end of the essay.
On one side of the argument, It is convenience for people to interact with each other due to modern technology such as phone or internet, in comparison to the past, where communication need to take longer from one side to other side. This is particularly true for people that living or travel across the country, where face to face interaction with people on other side is impossible, therefore social network and phone become the major breakthrough point for people to stay in touch regardless of the distance. For instance, People from United states could communicate with people from Cambodia.
On the other hand, there is a concern of technologies drives people apart due to addictive behavior of some people. As a result of modern technology, some people stay isolate in their home without any interaction, including family and friends, lead to distance in their relationship and friendship. For instance, According to the data from digital technology of Cambodia research (DTCR), teenagers with phone or console game likely to developed social awkwardness later in their adulthood. To conclude, modern technology ruins people’s relationship from their love one.
I personally of the opinion of that while technology without restriction are dangerous, it has more benefits on brought people closer. The used of technology deeply depend on how people utilize it. I prefer to use technology to communicate with others. For instance, even thought, my uncle lives and works in London, my family still talk with him once or twice a week without any issues.
Overall, it is clear that people are closer and their relationship better compare to the past, where modern technology was not present, despite the challenge that it faces.
