Parent’s primary priority has always been the success of their children, they are willing to do anything that could help the process. For instance, motivating them, mentally preparing them or hiring private instructors. However, some parents decide to put a lot of pressure on their children to succeed.
The job market nowadays needs people who are specialized in one specific field. However, to be a specialist in any field of work or study a person has to spend many years to master the skills and knowledge necessary. In addition, some argue that people have to start preparing themselves at a very young age, if not a person will never be able to compete in the job market. Therefore, parents are worried that their child might not have the knowledge and experience needed to get a good job. As a consequence, they start putting pressure on their children to increase their activities.
In contrast, children aren’t meant to worry and think about their future job, they are suppose to play, have fun and socialize. However, by putting a high amount of pressure on a child for a long period of time, he or she could be overstressed and as a result lose their motivation and confidence. Therefore, the child won’t be mentally prepared to continue the long process of learning that is necessary for becoming a professional.
In summary, parents are right to be worried about the future of their children. However, putting pressure on their children, to increase the odds of them finding a good job isn’t a good idea. Therefore, parents should support their children by preparing them mentally and hiring private teachers that could help prepare a good foundation for the childs future.
