Using mobile phone in certain environment is as antisocial as smoking. Similar to smoking, using mobile should also be banned. I strongly agree with the statement because using phones in certain places shows a lack of interest and sense of responsibility.
Generally, using phone in private is not as alarming as smoking but using it while in a meeting shows that the person is not interested. People usually expect that every member of the meeting pay a close attention to the discussion. However, if someone suddendly take out phone and start scrolling, it create a strong negative reaction among the other team members. While some people may still lack such ethics so it is essential to set up a policy that discourage members to use the phone while in a meeting. For example, big companies have certain rules for their professional meetings in which they explicitly mention the use of phone to be discouraged.
In addition, there are certain critical situations such as medical procedures and driving, in such conditions it is extremely dangerous to use phones. In emergency ward, nurses are supposed to handle the patients instead of using phones. Although, it may not be as critical as it seems but this act shows carelessness and irresponsility. Similarly, when using a public transport the driver should focus on the road instead of checking the phone. For instance, using phones under such conditions may lead to medical consiquences and road accidents. So the use of mobile should be banned in such places.
In conclusion, despite the fact that the use of phone is not as critical as smoking, it can still leads to many negative outcomes such as lack of professionalism, medical failures and road accidents. Therefore, it is crucial to banned the use of phones in certain environments.
