It is sometimes argued that there should be an absolute restriction on all types of advertisements. In my opinion, it would be wrong to fully restrict all forms of advertising.
There are several reasons why I would argue against absolutely prohibiting all advertisements. Firstly, some businesses are solely dependent on advertising and could face bankruptcy if such a restriction is applied, particularly online shops and markets. Secondly, this change could make it really challenging and time-consuming for people to find suitable products or services. Finally, the aforementioned bankruptcies of businesses and advertising agencies would result in a rapid increase in the unemployment rate, causing severe economic problems for the country.
I believe that instead of banning all sorts of advertising, specific rules could be applied to achieve the intended goals. For instance, regulating the types of goods or services that can be advertised in public places, websites, or on TV could ensure that advertisements are ethical and prevent scams. A complete ban on advertisements might be effective only in specific places, such as near roads where drivers might get distracted. Furthermore, governments could develop a taxation system to reduce the number of advertisements without causing harm to businesses or the economy.
In conclusion, my view is that governments should establish specific laws or tax systems that do not harm both businesses and the government. It is wrong to forbid all forms of advertisements.
