The diagram demonstrates the differences between the Spanish city of Castellon in 2000 and itself today.
Overall, the city has undergone a holistic reconstruction of its amenities, in which the city has enhanced its convenience and facilities to serve the citizens. Multiple outdated social services were replaced with more modern alternatives and several new utilities were added.
To begin with, the city of Castellon consisted of a small number of basic social services in the early year of 21st century. On the southern part of the city, there was a port on the riverside, along with only one main road available for transportation. Moving further to the central part of the city, there was an old market adjacent to the city centre, which was the only place where dwellers could purchase their daily essentials. Moreover, the northern side of the city comprised two main constructions, namely train station and the university. It was in the far northwest region of the city where the train station was located, while the university and a green area were based in the far north side.
After a few decades, numerous changes have been made to the Spanish city of Castellon, one prominent of which is the appearance of two constructions with recreational purpose beside the port on the riverbank, namely cinema and a complex of bars and clubs. Furthermore, the main road was transferred into a footpath for pedestrian use. On the city central position, a bike rental scheme and a new covered market was updated to the area along with the replacement of the old market into a new shop. On the south side of the city, the previous train station was replaced by a police station on the same site, therefore ensuring security for the region. A new train station with a tramline and a constructing airport were added to refine transportation needs. Following is the appearance of the hall of residence and the replacement of the green area by a shopping centre on the northwest and northeast corner of the neighborhood, respectively.
