As can be seen, in 1975, 80% of the workforce relied on farming as a source of employment. Meanwhile, 10% were employed either in manufacturing or in service. The following decades saw contrasting patterns across the sectors: while there was a constant decline in the proportion of those who worked in agriculture, more people participated in manufacturing and services. In 1980, they all shared an exact proportion of 40%.
It is evident that in 2025, not all sectors are anticipated to continue their patterns in the past. Prediction shows that by 2025, there will have been a diversion in the pattern of manufacturing and the figure will have drop in line with that of agriculture, each of which will reach a low of 10%. On the contrary, service employment is expected to enjoy its steady rise, and almost everyone in the USA will work as a provider in 2025.
