The chart illustrates the percentage of interested people in six specific sports in the UK in three different years.
Overall, there is an increasing individual preference on swimming, volleyball, rugby, and golf from 1995 to 2005. In addition, there is a fluctuation in people’s interest in football while a decreasing trend in tennis during the same time period.
In detail, about one-third of the surveyed people showed interest in Rugby from 1995 with a slight increase in 2000 and even higher in 2005. Additionally, similar trends were observed between swimming and volleyball with almost 30% interested individuals by the end of 2005, it started with just over a quarter in 1995. Moreover, a minimal increase was also recorded from people interested in golf from 1995 with around 18% to nearly 20% by 2025.
Furthermore, the percentage of people who expressed interest in football fluctuated from 40% in 1995, then slight increase to about 45% in 2000, and declined to just over 40% in 2005. Finally, a drop of interested people was recorded particularly in tennis by 2005 at just below a third of the population.
