The given bar chart illustrates the amount of migrants to Australia from six different regions in a period of decade from 1987 to 1997.
Firstly, migration rate of Europe was the highest of all which is about 33% in 1987 followed by a significant decrease to about 27% in 1997. At the same time, the percentage of migrants from Rest of Asia went down 5% from 22% in 1987 to 17% in 1997. For North/South America, it can be seen a minimal fall from 6% to 5% in 1987 to 1997.
On the other hand, there was a significant rise in Oceania, which stood 17% in 1987 but rose to 22% in 1997. The migration rates of Middle East and North Africa and Northeast Asia were the same which was about 15% in 1987. After 10 years, they both rose to 5% and 9% respectively.
Overall, while the migrants of Europe and Rest of Asia fell over time, North/South America still nearly remained the same. The remaining parts increased after a decade.
