The second chart represents the number of children who participated in three sports including football, athletics, and swimming during the observation period.
Overall, it is clear that the average monthly money used for children’s sports witnessed a considerable rise over 6 years. Football was by far the most popular means of sports during the period shown.
In 2008, above 7.5 millions children participated in football, which remained as the highest figure over 6 years. During the same year, the number of children engaged in athletics was the lowest, around 1 million, while swimming participation was relatively higher than that, being chosen by around 2,4 million children.
Between 2010 and 2012, the figures for athletic participation sharply increased from under 1 million to 5 millons. In 2011, athletics and swimming engagement received the same number of children, reaching 2,5 million. The number of youngsters took part in swimming almost doubled, to nearly 4 million children
