Nowadays, the rate of crime has been increasing rapidly, and there are some variety ways for both individuals and government should prevent criminals from violating the law in the society. While there are some opinions that those who disobey should be imprisoned, other argued that there are more effective methods. And I agree with the latter opinion that there are some better alternatives.
It is true that putting criminals to prison could assurance (guarantee = đảm bảo) absolute security for society because those would not be able to commit crimes. Howevers, I believe that it is disadavantages when all offenders are forced to go to jail. Firstly, the cost of running and managing prisons is often costly as the government needs to invest much on facilities and security. Furthermore, when the prisoner loses their freedom, they can become rensentful. Once dangerous criminals are kept in captivity, they can hatch a plot to revenge those make them to be put into prison. Hence, this could prevent offenders from being a decent citizen after being releasing, which is a negative impact.
On the other hand, there are stronger measures should be taken to address the root causes of crimes rather than implementing incarceration. Firstly, governments can provide education for criminals, which can change lawbreaker’s attitude in a positive way. Being educated, criminals would distinguish between right and wrong, and they would reliaze that it is unacceptable to break the law. Secondly, job training is extremely significant to lawbreakers to have a normal job after completing their sentence. This would help them earn a living and avoid the social isolation after coming back to society, and they would no longer have motivation to reoffend.
In conclusion, there is a variety of measures for offenders, howevers, I think government should provide education and job training for criminals rather than send them to prison.
