Some people believe that English facilitates communication with others and makes it easier to find a job. Others argue that it is less important than local languages like Kazakh. In my opinion, a global language is necessary, but we should not forget about our native languages.
A global language provides more opportunities. For instance, if someone does not understand the local language, they can start speaking in English. There are more translation applications available in English than in other languages. Additionally, knowing English can be advantageous in the job market, as those who are proficient in it often have better career prospects. The ability to speak English can lead to a better quality of life, as I have seen in my own experience. For example, my uncle speaks English and works for a company that uses English as its primary language. His company built homes during a flood, showcasing the importance of English in professional settings.
Local languages also have their significance. A lot of time is spent learning different languages, especially when there is limited information available on the internet. These languages have been built on traditions that have developed over a long time. A person’s culture is intertwined with their language history, and it took many years to preserve these languages when they were once forbidden. People continue to advocate for their rights and their languages. For example, Kazakhstan has a rich and demanding history that reflects the hard work of its people.
In my opinion, both global and local languages have been nurtured over time. Furthermore, every language has the capacity to inspire and motivate others. Through language, we can express not only our history and culture but also the experiences of those who developed and fought for their right to be heard
