I would like to share my experience at the cafe I visited in Tokyo last summer. In my opinion, exceptional service is defined by the manner of their waitstaff. During my time at the cafe, I encountered some of the best service I have ever received. They took the initiative to ask about my mood and how I was feeling, among other questions. To me, this level of attentiveness is the most important aspect of the experience.
