So I would like to talk about a time when we were completely restricted from using our phones. We were going on a trip with my family. To be more specific, it was a long drive for my family members who were busy with work almost every day of the week, and they didn't get much time to spend with us. So that was the reason for the trip. On that day, my mom suddenly set a rule for everyone. She said we had to give our phones to her and we could not use our phones throughout the whole trip. When I heard that rule, I was shocked because I am a person who loves to use my phone all the time. Even when I am not doing anything, I have to have my phone in my hand no matter what. I like to do lots of things on my phone, like scrolling through social media, texting my friends, gossiping, and giving daily updates—silly things like that. So it was really hard for me. After I gave my phone to my mom, I realized one thing: it's not that hard to spend time without a phone. We talked a lot about our daily lives, had a lot of fun, and grew closer to each other. We shared many things, like our journey and our future plans, even though we didn't know we were not that close before. Because of these advanced devices, families are pulled away from each other.
