I know this is a very crucial issue in recent days. Many researchers suggest that aquatic animals are easily affected by plastic. For example, microplastics are the most dangerous substances that affect aquatic species' extinction in the ocean because they take a long time to degrade, leading to implications for their bodies and being easily transferred from consumable fish to humans. Another crucial aspect is that most of the waste is disposed of in the ocean. It hugely affects aquatic animals and may lead to marine life migration as well. So we have to ensure their survival.
