These days I am reading the book called Sense and Sensibility. It has been written by Jane Austen and the main reason why I love this book is because I have done the first reading some years ago but I wanted to give it a second reading. Just because very recently I watched the film adaptation of this book and the story goes around to girls who are seeking for partners. The main theme of this book is love, matrimony, social expectations and social pressure. As I remember the Dashwood family finds it really difficult to live after the passing away of their father. Therefore the main responsibility of the mother of this family becomes to find good partners for the two daughters. I wouldn’t really say anything negative on this because this book has been written somewhere in the 18th century. Therefore back then the girls have been forced to get married to a partner who has a great financial stability. Therefore Eleonore, the main protagonist and Marion’s mother had the same responsibility. Matrimony was considered to be one of the central parts of a woman’s life. A woman has been very well educated but at the same time wagers or work expectations were not given to a woman. Whereas a woman’s major role was to look after the children and also to manage a house. So these are the main factors why a woman had to get married to a man who has the potential, specifically the financial stability. I love this book and also I love its film as well and I love collecting books because I am a visual learner at the same time who loves freedom physically.

These are the main factors why a woman had to marry a man with potential, specifically financial stability. I love this book, and I also love its film.
