The graph illustrates how much fruits were produced by one state of Australia in 1995, 2005 and 2015. Overall, all fruits production rose expect pears which saw a huge decrease in amount. Pears were less produced because of the several problems faced by farmers in the Australia in 2000s.
Pears were the only fruits which declined in the amount of production. This happened due to the several problems that farmers faced in 2000s. First one was the economical problem. By the poor prices and the tender process of supermarkets it was hard to stay profitable. Second problem was the climate change, because of it chilling hours were reduced impacting quality and requiring more water for irrigation and cooling, causing a 50 million kg decrease in amount of production.
While pears were decreasing, oranges, apples and peaches increased. Oranges, apples and peaches increased by 20 million kg, 40 million kg and 30 million kg in 20 years.
