The bar chart compares the volume of four types of fruit produced in an Australian state in 1995, 2005 and 2015, measured in millions of kilograms.
Overall, output increased for all fruits except pears, which declined markedly over the period. Apples recorded the most substantial growth and ultimately became the dominant product, whereas peaches, despite rising steadily, remained the least produced throughout.
In 1995, pears were by far the leading fruit at around 130 million kg, but their production fell sharply to just above 80 million kg by 2015, causing them to drop behind both apples and oranges.
By contrast, apple production rose significantly from just over 80 million kg to approximately 117 million kg, overtaking all other fruits. Orange output also increased consistently, reaching about 85 million kg and ranking second overall. Meanwhile, peaches nearly doubled in production, climbing from roughly 37 million kg to around 70 million kg, although they remained the lowest among the four categories.
