A Breakdown of AI Use in Education by Teacher Characteristics
In the past years , artificial intelligence has become more important part of the education, make is easier for the teachers to creat more interactive lessons and how they plan the lessons. It also helps a lot in learning and progressing for the students. To understand this growing trend, a survey examined how teachers with different levels of experience, grade levels, and subject areas are using artificial intelligence in their work.
Based on the survey,we can see three different aspects based on experiences, grade level and subjects. Teachers with less than 10 years experiences use AI around 22% and teachers with more than 10 years experiences use AI around 17%. Besides, teaching based on grades have a wider range of using AI, like K-5th grade teachers use it up to approximately 12% while 6th to 12th grade use it up to approximately 23%. And last but not least Reading and Language Arts teachers use AI the most and its up to 27% but as subject areas like science, technology and math also use it and in total it’s used in 17%.
In conclusion, the results shows that teachers in Reading and Language Arts are using AI more than in any other subjects. Its might be because artificial intelligence can help and make reading and writing activities easier and more creative. It also shows that teachers are open to learn and try new technology to make learning more engaging. As AI becomes more common in schools , other subject teachers may start using it in similar ways to support teaching and learning.
Entrant teachers may have more exposure to AI tools in their training, while teachers with many years of experience may rely more on traditional methods. AI could reduce teacher workload , allowing more focus on individual student needs.
