Dear Jane,

Thank you so much for your invitation. It’s so kind of you to invite me over to stay with you, but unfortunately, I won’t be able to make it due to my hectic work schedule.

Let me explain my situation in more detail. I have left the previous job and recently I’ve started a new teaching job in a school which is more demanding and needs more dedication. As, I am leading a project and in the upcoming holidays I’d have a lot of work to do because it is a matter of respect. I won’t be able to make it at your home.

Could you please let me know of some other time to visit you when you will be free? I will be available in the new year because of school holidays and I’d also be available in winter. I’d certainly love to escape the cold to visit you.
