Looking first at the higher group , General motor consumed about 32 hours to produce vehicles in 1998 , after which this figure fell markedly to precisely 22 hours in 2005. Similarly , there was a significantly decline in the figure for Ford , from 28 hours to just under 22 hours in 2005.
Turning to Asian companies , Toyota spent exactly 22 hours to manufacture products in the beginning of the period , which was the same as that of Honda. Thereafter , the figure for both brands went with opposite patterns until 2001 , before hit a high of 24 hours in 2002. Finally , the average time consumed by Toyota and Honda witnessed steady declines to 20 hours in 2005.
