Overall, the average consumption of sodium and saturated fat is the highest in dinner, while added sugar is consumed more in snacks. However, the average consumption of three nutrients are lower in breakfast.
Looking at the sodium fast, dinner meals accounted for 43%, which is the highest among three meals types. Lunch contributed 29%, almost half that of dinner, while both snacks and breakfast contain the same and the lowest proportion at 14%.
In terms of the saturated fat, dinner again has the highest share at 37%, lunch follows with 26%, whereas breakfast and snacks represent 16% and 21% respectively.
With regarding to the average proportion of added sugar in snacks, it stands with 42%, higher than dinner and lunch with 23% and 19%. Breakfast has the smallest proportion at just 16%.
