Band 6+: Below is a map of the city of Brandfield. City planners have decided to build a new shopping mall for the area, and two sites, S1 and S2 have been proposed. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant. Write at least 150 words.

Overall, we can see that S1 is fairly wider than S2, and both of the sites surround the city centre. Other than that, both areas are between the road and the railway.

The S1 site is beside the river, hence, if a mall is built in the area, people would see a picturesque scenery. To the west of the area, we can spot a big housing estate that is close to the railway. The housing location also contains a road inside that allows citizens to transport through the city’s facilities, like the Golf Course and Park to the left of the city centre.

While the S1 site is near an accommodation facility, the S2 area is to the left of an industrial location, with only a railway separating them. By only crossing the road, pedestrians can quickly move from S2 to the city centre to the north of their former location. Both proposed places are accessed easily; however, to decide the best location we must take account the opinions of people in Brandfield.
