The first line graph illustrates the changes in total , rural and urban population between 1950 and 2040 while the second shows the proportion of different age groups including under 15, 15-65 and over 65 over the same period.
Overall, all three types of population exhibited an upward trends throughout the period. It is also clear that different age groups also showed peak figure.
Focusing first on populations , 1950, the rural population stood at 3%, then rose slightly to over 4% in 1970. This trend is expected to continue upward until 2040. Simultaneously, the total and urban populations followed closely at 11% and 6%, respectively. Subsequently, both surged to 28% and 20% and remained steady in 2000. In addition, both are projected to rise sharply, reaching around 41% and 39% by 2040. It can be deduced that the total population will show the highest growth among these three figures.
When it comes to age groups , in 1950 , the under 15 and over 65 groups exhibited similar trends, stood at 4%. Then both of them followed an uninterrupted upward until 2020. Meanwhile, they are projected to continue increasing until 2040. It also clear that 15-65 group accounted for around 6% in 1950. Afterwards, rose sharply to over 31% and remained stable in 2020. In addition, it expected to peak at 35% and becoming the largest age group by 2040.
