The chart illustrates the amounts of CO2 emissions in metric tonnes in 4 different countries between 1967 and 2007.
Overall, we can notice that the amount of CO2 was the most in United Kingdom and the least in Portugal throughout the years. All four countries experienced fluctuations, nonetheless.
The least dramatic change was observed in the UK,starting at approximately 11 and being steady the next 10 years. Then experiencing a slight decrease through the next 5 years and reaching 10 metric tonnes in 1987,after what, with a steady decrease through the next 20 years, reaching 9 metric tonnes in 2007.
In contrast, Sweden and Italy experienced a dramaric rise the first 10 years, with Sweden reaching ots peak from 9 to 10,3 and Italy reaching from 4,5 to 6,5 metric tones.Sweden had a downward trend, experiencing a sharp fall from 10,3 to 7 in 1987, and then, with a steady increase, reaching 5,8 in 2007. Italy,in contrast, had an upward trend, slightly increasing from 6,5 to 7,8 in 1997 and being steady the next 10 years.
Portugal, having the least amount of CO2 emissions, started at 1,7 in 1967 and experienced a steady increase the next 20 years. Then, with a sharp rise, reached 5,6 in 1997. Finally, with a slight increase,Portugal reached its peak 5,8 in 2007, sharing the same level with Sweden.
