The data illustrates the changes of main age groups proportion of the inhabitants of Spain and Italy in 1900 and 2000.

Overall, it is noticeable, that the age group(15-49) was dominating over other age groups and had a growing tendation. By comparison, the proportion of this age group was slightly higher in Italy than in Spain. Also, it is interesting to see that the age group(49+) did not have any increase or decrease.

It is clear, that the age group(49+) of Spanish citizenship remained stable at 30% from 1900 to 2000, similar for Italy, that stayed constant at 30%. For the age group(0-14) there was equally to each other a decline in both countries, which was exactly 10%. Talking about the dominant age group(15-49), there was a significant rise, for Italy the percentages went up from 45% to 55% and for Spain they surged from 40% to 50%. So after the subtraction, it is easy to see that growing part of each country equals to each other (10%=10%)
