The bar graphs illustrates the electricity production through renewable and non-renewable energy in the United States between 2009 and 2019.
As shown in the bar diagram, the use of petroleum and nuclear were almost remained constant to produce electricity, which released just below 60 billion kilowatt per hours and around 810 billion kilowatt per hours in 2009 and 2019 respectively. The use of renewables was 437 billion in 2009 and tose to 720 billion kilowatt after a decade. Further more, the use of coal was highest in 2009 to produce 1756 billion kilowatt per hours while, in 2019, natural gas used most to produce electricity at the rate of 1582 billion kilowatt per hours.
In the case of renewable energy sources, the utilisation of geothermal (nearly 16 billion kilowatt per hours), plant/animal matter (approximately 58 billion) and hydroelectric (273 billion kilowatt per hours) were pretty much similar in both years. The utilities of wind was increased from 94 billion to 300 billion over the period of 10 years. In addition, the use of solar in 2009, was almost negligible but, in 2019, it raised up to 73 billion kilowatt per hours.
Overall, the highest amount of coal and natural gas were used to produce electricity while, wind was used in highest amount as a source of renewable energy to release electricity in 2019.
