The bar chart supplied depicts the contribution of the IT and service industry to the GDP of the United Kingdom in terms of percentage from 1992-2000.
Overall, it can be observed that there has been a gradual increase in those two areas over the years.
Generally, the most noticeable change is in the IT industry which demonstrates a doubling in size from approximately 6 to more than 14 percent over 8 years. This sector shared the highest gross domestic product percentage compared to the service industry in the past years. Conversely, from 1992 to 2000, the service sector remained the least subsidized, never exceeding 10 percent, and peaked at around 9 percent. Its’ trend shows a constant increase rate of an average of around 1 percent per year. Although the service industry illustrated a stable increase, the IT sector demonstrated a slight drop during the year 1996 which suggested that the rate is not constant.
