Overall, what stands out from the chart is that the share of GDP from the IT industry was consistently higher than that from the service industry. Furthermore, a significant increase in the proportion of GDP from the IT industry can be seen over the given period.
Initially, the figure for the IT industry stood at just over 6% compared to that of the service industry, which was exactly at 4%. Both rose markedly by 2% in 1994, however while the former experienced a slight decline to a little less than 8% by 1996, the latter increased minimally to approximately 7% by the same time.
In 1998, a big difference can be seen between the contributions GDP from of IT and service industry (12% and 7.8%, respectively). GDP from the IT industry was reported to have grown considerably, reaching almost 15%. In contrast, GDP from the service industry saw only a marginal increase of 0.3% by the final year.
