Conversely, the data of food and drink expenditure decreased highly from 23% in 1980 to 13% in 2008. Other spendings such as transport, utility bills, and others spending experienced a marginal fluctuation.
Regarding the data of New Zealand, food and drink spending was the most dominant in 1980, while in 2008, utility bills was the highest. Food and drink expenditure recorded a major fall from 29% to 25% by 2008, whereas utility bills encountered a rise from 27% in 1980 to 31% in 2008. Other expenses such as transport, leisure, and others spending experienced a marginal fluctuation by 1-2%.
