Overall, it is immediately clear that the major device priorities shifted over a decade, with Conventional TV declining signifivantly to become a lower priority, while flat-screen TV and mobile phone increased to take up the largest shares of the devices by 2017.
In 2007, Conventional TV and laptop were the two dominant areas, accounting for 34% and 20%, respectively. Thus, making up just over half of all devices. The category of other desktop computer also represented significant share at 18%, following by Mobile phone at 15%.
By 2017, the hierarchy of devices had been entirely reconstructed. Convetional TV saw a sharp decline to only 4%, being overtaken by both Flat-screen TV and Mobile phone. The latter two categories rose to 27% and 26%, respectively together making up just over half of the total choice of devices. Young people chosing Tabled sharply increased from 5% to 19%, whereas laptop decreased from 20% to 12%.
