The charts below delineate income from fishing from the period 1982 to 2003 as well as the income from different economic sectors of Morocco. Overall, the major sectors of Morocco contributing to the income were Industry, Tourism, and Worker’s Remittance. Fishing and Petroleum also had some amount of contribution for it’s income. Agriculture generated the least money for the country.
Tourism had the largest contribution Morocco’s income (26%) in 2003. Similarly, Industry and Worker’s Remittance also played a significant role in contributing to the income with 24% and 21% contribution respectively. A major proportion in Morocco’s income (just above 60%) was due to these 3 categories stating their importance for the country’s economy.
In contrast, Petroleum and Fishing produced almost equal incomes (14% and 13%). Combining these two with the categories mentioned in the above paragraph resulted in 98% of the total income generated. The proportion of income generated by Agriculture was only 2% of the total country’s money, making it of least importance economically.
