The pie charts illustrate the percentage of online shopping sales for retail sectors in Canada over a period spanning from 2005–2010. Overall, while all four sectors experienced growth in online sales, the numbers exhibited noticeable swings. Food/beverage and video games show the highest percentage in online sales by 2010, while home furnishings and electronic appliance sales decreased by a slight percentage the following year.
In Canada, from 2005 to 2010, food and beverage sales rose from 22% to 32%, a rise of 10% is noteworthy. This shows the great interest of people in online sales in this sector. On the other hand, from 18% to 23%, the increase in video game sales was a slight change of 6%.
The home furnishings sector, standing at 25% in 2005 and 15% in 2010, experienced a dip in sales. This is the only sector with the lowest sales of all sectors. Electronics items showed the greatest sales throughout the year and a decrease of a few percentage points in 2010. Both sectors declined in growth by a steady decrease in percentage.
