The line graph below shows the number of tourists visiting Phuket Island between 2000 and 2020, categorized by the type of accommodation they chose - hotels or apartments. The graph also presents the total number of visitors each year. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant. Write at least 150 words.

The line graph illustrates the fluctuation in the average number of people visiting Phuket Island during 20 year period, in the years 2000 and 2020.

Overall, the graph shows that each section follows a distinct trend, with apartments experiencing increases in the number of visitors. Hotels present a gradual decline towards the end, contrasting with total number of visitors which make it the most high trend.

Between 2000 and 2002 tourists exhibited a clear preference for hotel and accommodations climbing to approximately 1.3 million. During the same period, the number of visitors staying in apartments rose steadily from around 0.4 million visitors to exactly 0.8 million visitors highliting its steady increase.

After a eligible increase in number of visitior staying in hotels, there was a gradual decrease starting from around 2009 to 2020, which made 1.5 million tourists. In contrast, in 2009 tourists staying in apartments experienced a moderate fall, followed by a sharp increase. After in 2016, the number of total visitors exceeded more than 4 million island visitors, while those who stay in apartment were excactly 4 million.
